'Mood Temperature'

Like a body temperature

‘Mood Temperature’ is a project with regard to drawing and head piece works inspired by fashion magazines. Since 2000, she has been collecting fashion magazines, focusing on a subject of propagation of fashion phenomena and changes of time. She felt that fashion magazines are floods of information like we experience in our everyday lives. She monitors the changes in her feelings, by spontaneously re-drawing images. She started this project in 2013, by observing her feelings, she records them through her drawings like a diary. The metaphor she uses is ‘body temperature’. In real life people’s body temperature changes throughout the day. She has replaced the concept of body temperature with mood.

Her Sensitivities

Since her child hood, her moods have rapidly gone up and down, it has been hard to control them. Eiko has always been sensitive to her environment, constantly processing everything around her. This world is her inspiration and stimulus affecting her moods which are then expressed through her art.
